Position:
Professor
Division:
Critical Care Medicine
Vision Statement:

Advancing knowledge to improve outcomes of critically ill patients.

Research Interests:

Sepsis, ventricular dysfunction, genetic determinants of critical illness

Research Sumary:

The focus of Dr. Walley’s research is to investigate 1) the mechanism of decreased left ventricular contractility and other organ failure during sepsis and 2) the impact of genotype on patient outcomes in sepsis and systemic inflammatory states. Clinical research and development of local biotech are used to translate bench discoveries to clinical application.

Education:
BSc (Hons Physics), MD, University of Manitoba
Internal Medicine Residency, McGill University
Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship, University of Chicago
