Each year, the UBC Faculty of Medicine honours faculty and staff who demonstrate exceptional commitment to teaching, research, leadership, innovation, and service.
We are proud to recognize five members of the Department of Medicine who were named among the 2025 award recipients:
Dr. Adeera Levin, Division of Nephrology – Overall Excellence – Senior Faculty, celebrating her outstanding contributions as a clinician, researcher, and leader.
Dr. Paul Keown, Division of Nephrology – Bill and Marilyn Webber Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his sustained contributions in research, teaching, and service throughout a distinguished career.
Dr. Trudy Nasmith, Division of General Internal Medicine – Clinical Faculty Award for Excellence in Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusiveness, honouring her leadership in creating more equitable and inclusive spaces in medicine.
Dr. Lawrence Chow, Division of General Internal Medicine – Clinical Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentorship, highlighting his commitment to guiding and supporting the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Brittany Bingham, Division of Social Medicine – Overall Excellence – Early Career, recognizing her significant impact in research, education, and service early in her academic career.
