David Wood is an Associate Clinical Professor and the Director of Undergraduate Cardiovascular Medical Education in the Division of Cardiology at UBC. He is a structural and interventional cardiologist and is a member of the Centre for Heart Valve Innovation in Vancouver.
Structural and Interventional Cardiology
Primary research interests include transcatheter management of structural and valvular heart disease, advanced cardiac imaging, and new device development. He works closely with Dr. John Webb as a member of the first group to develop transarterial and transapical TAVR. He obtained subspecialty training at Vancouver General Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, and Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute of New York. Dr. Wood has co-authored over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals. He recently authored the state of the art paper “Current Status of TAVR” in JACC. He is the principal investigator for the multi-site FFR STABILITY trial and co-principal investigator for the international COMPLETE trial.
