Engage with the Strategic Planning Process

The UBC Department of Medicine is embarking on the development of a strategic plan to help set a cohesive direction and priorities for the next 5 years, to strengthen and forge new collaborative relationships, and to support decision-making. The strategic plan will lay out our vision, mission and goals, how we intend to achieve them, and how we will measure and communicate our progress.

There are three ways to engage with the Strategic Planning Process:

Surveys

Town Halls/Site Visits

Insights from Phase 1: Situation Assessment

General Feedback

The UBC Department of Medicine Strategic Planning Process is currently in: Phase 3: Activation

SURVEYS

SURVEYS ARE NOW CLOSED

We have created two different anonymous surveys tailored to our stakeholder groups to better assess the needs of the Department of Medicine as a whole.

  • A survey for all stakeholders affiliated directly and indirectly with the UBC Department of Medicine (i.e. Academic Faculty, Clinical Faculty, and Staff)
  • A survey for learners affiliated with the UBC Department of Medicine (i.e. medical students, core IM residents, and subspecialty residents)

INSIGHTS FROM PHASE 1: SITUATION ASSESSMENT

Thank you for meeting with us and sharing your thoughts at our town hall sessions this past spring. Your input is invaluable and we appreciate the time and effort you contributed to the situation assessment phase of the strategic planning process for the Department.

We would like to share the high-level SWOT analysis that was captured and synthesized by the Strategic Planning Committee during Phase 1: Situation Assessment. This data was collected via surveys, interviews, and town halls. We encourage all Department of Medicine faculty, staff, and learners to review these preliminary finding and, as always, we welcome any and all feedback.

Please send us your comments via the General Feedback option on this page

The opportunity to provide general feedback will be available from Strategic Plan Phase I: Situation Assessment through to Strategic Plan Phase 4: Implementation & Sustainment
