MHPE-Canada is a two-year, part-time, internationally recognized course, giving graduates a research-based master’s degree from Maastricht University.

The objectives of the MHPE program are to provide teachers of health professions, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dentists, pharmacists and others, with the capacity to implement and improve their educational programs and to conduct education research related to regional and national health priorities. The MHPE-Canada focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and skills relevant for innovative medical and health professions education in Canada.

Within the two-year program, students participate in two sets of three-week long units, taking place on-campus with delivery conducted by faculty members from both UBC and Western University. All other units are distance-based being delivered by faculty at Maastricht University.
