VGH Grand Rounds are currently broadcast by videoconferencing to various hospital sites in BC and via Cisco WebEx. The audience are faculty members, residents and medical students. Rounds are presented by a different division each month (each Division assigns a speaker). The rounds should be case-based and multi-disciplinary. When possible, speakers should include case examples to illustrate their talk (this is based on feedback from evaluations).
This event is an accredited group learning activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
If you are unable to attend the rounds in person, we encourage participants to attend via Cisco WebEx. This technology will enable you to join rounds from your desktop, laptop, and supported Android/Apple mobile devices. Once connected, you will have a similar video and presentation experience that you would in a standard UBC Faculty of Medicine videoconference room.
There are three VC Anywhere Visual Quick Start Guides: Windows and Mac, iOS and Android. Although mobile devices are an option, we strongly recommend that you join sessions from a desktop or laptop computer for a more stable user experience.
In order to ensure that all participants have the best experience, please follow this etiquette guide when joining via WebEx.
Grand Rounds Evaluation Forms are available at the host site or can be completed online here

VGH Specialty Noon Rounds are held every Friday at 12:00pm -1:00pm in the 14c Conference Room, 14th Floor in the Jim Pattison Building at Vancouver General Hospital.
The speaker presents to a group of MSIs and Internal Medicine / Off Service residents (varying years). The speaker is asked to give the talk at the level of a 1st year resident, on a topic that would be applicable to a Community General Internist. High yield topics applicable to a Royal College General Internal Medicine Examination are strongly recommended. Topics usually focus around a clinical vignette from which the discussion may center around diagnosis, physical examination, or management. There are no noon rounds in August.
