The Department of Medicine Martin M Hoffman Award for Excellence in Research is awarded to a full-time faculty member in recognition of outstanding research and scholarly contributions

The Department of Medicine Fay Dirks Award for Excellence in Teaching is intended to recognize department members who have a sustained record and reputation for excellence in teaching

The Department of Medicine Donald M Whitelaw Award for Outstanding Grand Rounds Presentation is awarded to a faculty member for outstanding grand rounds (corroborated by score on Grand Rounds evaluation)

The Department of Medicine Master Teacher Award is intended to recognize faculty members who make outstanding contributions to the learning environment of the Department of Medicine and who excel at teaching

Introduced in 2017, the Department of Medicine Graydon Meneilly Award for Excellence in Mentoring is intended to recognize a faculty member for their exemplary leadership as a mentor, fostering excellence in others (faculty, residents, students or staff) and/or advancing the equity agenda of the Department

Introduced in 2023, the Clinical Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching is intended to recognize clinical faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in teaching in a clinical setting

Introduced in 2023, the Clinical Faculty Award for Excellence in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety is intended to recognize clinical faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in quality improvement and patient safety

The Department of Medicine Staff Award of Excellence for CUPE2950 is intended to recognize CUPE 2950 staff members who have demonstrated sustained excellence in service over the course of their career and to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the Department of Medicine

The Department of Medicine Staff Award of Excellence for M&P is intended to recognize M&P staff members who have demonstrated sustained excellence in service over the course of their career and to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the Department of Medicine

The Department of Medicine Staff Award of Excellence for Non-union Technical is intended to recognize technical staff members who have demonstrated sustained excellence in service over the course of their career and to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the Department of Medicine.

The Department of Medicine Staff Career Excellence Award is intended to recognize staff with a minimum of 15 years of continuous service in the Department who have demonstrated sustained excellence in service over the course of their career and to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the Department of Medicine

The Department of Medicine Staff Early Career Excellence Award is intended to recognize staff who have demonstrated excellence early in their career and to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the Department of Medicine

Introduced in 2021, the Department of Medicine Staff Award for EDI Advancement is intended to recognize staff who have demonstrated EDI Advancement and to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the Department of Medicine

This award is given annually to those Department members who provide outstanding contributions to the clinical educational experiences of residents and/or medical students in either the inpatient or outpatient settings. Nominations are based upon trainee evaluations, with only the top 10% of all teachers qualifying for inclusion on the Honour Roll.
