Dr. Andrei Krassioukov Receives 2025 ASIA Lifetime Achievement Award

The UBC Department of Medicine is proud to announce that Dr. Andrei Krassioukov, Professor and Endowed Chair in the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, has been awarded the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA).

This award, ASIA’s highest honour, recognizes individuals who have made lasting and meaningful contributions to spinal cord injury care through excellence in research, education, leadership, and clinical service.

Dr. Krassioukov is internationally known for his trailblazing work on autonomic dysfunction in individuals with spinal cord injury. His research has shaped international standards of care and clinical guidelines, improved outcomes for patients, and trained a generation of healthcare professionals and scientists around the world.

Beyond his academic and clinical roles at UBC, ICORD, and GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, Dr. Krassioukov has collaborated extensively with the International Paralympic Committee and the World Health Organization, leading international initiatives in both elite athlete care and crisis-affected regions.

With over 350 peer-reviewed publications and numerous awards to his name, his influence in the field is profound and far-reaching. We are honoured to count him among our faculty and celebrate this well-earned recognition of a truly exceptional career.
