Andrea Jones, MD, PhD, neurology resident and postdoctoral fellow at UBC has been name the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines Stroke Data Challenge Winner.
The Get With The Guidelines Stroke Data Challenge aims to advance understanding of how social and structural determinants of health influence stroke presentation, care quality and clinical outcomes.
As part of its mission to realize a world free of cardiovascular disease and stroke, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association hosted a data challenge to encourage cross collaboration among researchers to deepen understanding of the impact of social and structural determinants of health on stroke.
Dr. Jones’ project, titled “A novel network analysis of county- and individual-level factors associated with functional outcomes after stroke” was presented at the American Heart Association’s International Stroke Conference, in Phoenix, on February 7th.
