The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Fify Soeyonggo as Head, Division of Palliative Care effective January 1, 2022.
Dr. Soeyonggo is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Palliative Care and a palliative physician based in Tri-Cities. She has been engaged in a range of undergraduate and graduate teaching activities as well as building capacity amongst allied health professionals and physicians of various backgrounds. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Soeyonggo took on further leadership roles as the Co-local Department Head of the Fraser North Palliative Care program. In this position, she engaged with various leadership teams and committees to support the smooth delivery of end-of-life care in the midst of a rapidly changing medical landscape. She also played a pivotal role in developing multiple preprinted orders for the palliative management of patients which were disseminated health authority wide. In her new role as the Division Head of Palliative Care, Dr. Soeyonggo is looking forward to connecting with palliative care champions and esteemed colleagues across British Columbia to further expand end of life education, research and services.
