Dr. Kam Shojania awarded CRA Clinician-Educator Award

Dr. Kam Shojania, Clinical Professor and Head, Division of Rheumatology, has been awarded the Clinician-Educator Award from the Canadian Rheumatology Association.

The award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to rheumatology teaching and education in Canada through excellence above and beyond that which is usually expected.  Recipients of this award are accomplished Canadian rheumatologists of high professional calibre who have significantly furthered rheumatology education in Canada.

Dr. Shojania is the Head of Rheumatology at UBC, VGH, and St. Paul’s Hospital, and is Director of the Rheumatology Postgraduate Program.  He is the recipient of the 2003 UBC Faculty of Medicine Award for Excellence in Teaching.  He is an investigator at the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) in Vancouver and was a founding member and Director of the Canadian Rheumatology Research Consortium. His ongoing research is in the areas of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis and the appropriate use of diagnostic tests in the management of connective tissue diseases
