This award recognizes a scientist at Providence Health Care who demonstrates the mission and values of Providence Health Care while conducting outstanding research.

Dr. Nadia Khan is a Professor in General Internal Medicine Division at the University of British Columbia, a Scientist for the Centre for Advancing Health Outcomes, and an Associate Member at the School of Population and Public Health.
Dr. Khan published over 180 peer review papers and her research interests include sex/gender/ethnic impact of cardiovascular disease, health services as well as hypertension, diabetes, and stroke. She has methodological expertise in big data, randomized clinical trials, and patient-oriented research.
Dr. Khan is a Clinical Specialist and co-director of the Hypertension Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital and is an American Society of Hypertension Clinical Specialist in Hypertension. She is the past-President of Hypertension Canada, Vice President of the Canadian Hypertension Specialists Society and is an executive officer of the International Society of Hypertension. She co-authored the Global Guidelines in Hypertension, ISH Virtual Hypertension Guidelines, Hypertension Canada Guidelines 2020, Diabetes Canada Guidelines, and GPAC Hypertension Guidelines for BC.
