Dr. Seonaid Nolan appointed Acting Head, UBC Division of Social Medicine

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Seonaid Nolan as Acting Head, Division of Social Medicine, for a one-year term effective January 1, 2025. During this time, Dr. Thomas Kerr, Head, Division of Social Medicine, will be taking sabbatical. 

Dr. Seonaid Nolan is an Associate Professor in the Division of Social Medicine, Clinician Scientist at the BC Centre on Substance Use, Division Head of Providence Health Care’s Addiction Division, and Medical Director of BC’s prov-ARTS Network, with a focus on improving substance use care and treatment. She has secured over $100M in funding for addiction treatment initiatives, authored 115 peer-reviewed publications, and received multiple awards for her research, including the Vincent P. Dole Award for Research Excellence and a King Charles III Coronation medal in 2024.
