The CSE Annual Achievement Award recognizes Canadian health care professionals who have made significant contributions to echocardiography in terms of leadership, teaching or research.
Congratulations to Dr. Teresa Tsang, the 2023 recipient of the CSE Annual Achievement Award.
Dr. Tsang is a cardiologist, echocardiographer and tenured Professor in the Division of Cardiology at UBC. She came from the Mayo Clinic to UBC in 2009, and specializes in echocardiography and clinical epidemiology. She is internationally recognized for her research in echocardiography. She is currently Director, VGH and UBC Echocardiography Lab; and Director of the UBC VGH Artificial Intelligence Echo Core Lab. She is Associate Head, Research for the Department of Medicine, and Co-Lead of the Data Science and Health Established Research Cluster. She leads a collaborative team in development of AI imaging applications for diagnosis, management, and outcome prediction for cardiovascular diseases, including atrial fibrillation, aortic stenosis, stroke, cardiomyopathies, and heart failure.
