Focus
Dr. Cairns’ research into acute ischemic syndromes has been focused on improving patient outcomes by reducing myocardial infarct size, preventing and limiting coronary thrombosis, reducing ischemic complications by antithrombotic and interventional approaches and reducing arrhythmic death with drug therapies.
His research into atrial fibrillation has been focused on reducing stroke and systemic embolism with a variety of antithrombotic therapies.
