UBC Rank: Clinical Assistant Professor

Areas of
Focus
Dr. Kapeluto’s research focus is on the clinical outcomes of metabolic disease after bariatric surgery. Newer malabsorptive metabolic surgeries and emerging therapies are inducing remission of diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. By identifying which patient populations would benefit from these interventions, we can target specific populations for surgery type and improve outcomes in patients with obesity and associated metabolic diseases.
