The UBC Department of Medicine invites its faculty members, students, and staff to the upcoming 2021 UBC Experimental Medicine Career and Research Expo, brought to you by the Department of Medicine Research Office and Experimental Medicine Program.

The 2021 UBC Experimental Medicine Career and Research Expo is taking place virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 1 pm – 5 pm.

The 2021 program features faculty keynote addresses from Dr. Manish Sadarangan (UBC Department of Pediatrics), Dr. Janice Eng (UBC Department of Physical Therapy), Dr. David Granville (UBC Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine), and Dr. Gail Murphy (UBC Vice-President of Research and Innovation).

In addition to keynote addresses, the program will also feature student presentations (oral, lighting and posters) and two panels (Industry Panel and Award/Grant Panel), which are an innovative part of this year’s event. Professionals in academia and industry will share their stories and answer questions.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Bev Holmes, President & CEO of Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, who will give a brief introduction on MSFHR and its role in developing health research talent. Dr. Holmes focuses on the funding, production, and uptake of health research and healthcare-related evidence in British Columbia. Her research interests include knowledge translation, discourse analysis, health communication, risk communication, and public involvement in health research.
