The UBC Department of Medicine invites its faculty members, students, and staff to the upcoming 2018 Medicine Research Expo, brought to you by our Department of Medicine Research Office and UBC Experimental Medicine Program. The 2018 UBC Department of Medicine Research Expo is taking place at the Paetzold Health Education Centre on Wednesday November 7, 2018. The program will begin with lunch and a poster session from 11:30-12:30. Invited speakers will be presenting from 12:30-5pm, with a reception to follow. Click here to see the event schedule.
We welcome Dr. Lori Brotto, UBC Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology as our 2018 Invited Guest speaker. Dr. Brotto is a leading expert in women’s sexual health and well-being and has recently become the Executive Director of the BC Women’s Health Research Institute where she leads collaborative women’s health research at BC Women’s, PHSA, UBC and other partner Universities. These teams of researchers are investigating and advancing women-centered healthcare in British Columbia and beyond.
This year’s program features Keynote lectures from Department of Medicine Faculty members Dr. Judy Illes (Neurology) and Dr. Chris Ryerson (Respiratory Medicine) in addition to Highlighted speakers Dr. Andrew Krahn (Cardiology), Dr. Kathleen Martin Ginnis (SMP) and Dr. John Staples (General Internal Medicine).
You will also hear about the latest developments in the UBC Experimental Medicine Program, and have an opportunity to see the outstanding research work of trainees.
