The iCON Indigenous Project Team/UBC Digital Emergency Medicine are honoured to have Dr. David Tu and Dr. Michael Dumont join us in circle for the second session of this webinar series, to share their knowledge on providing culturally safe care for Indigenous patients.

Dr. Dumont is an Anishinaabe family physician and serves as the medical director of Lu’ma Medical Centre, which he helped establish in 2016. He is also a family physician at Musqueam Primary Care Clinic, a clinical instructor and preceptor in UBC’s Indigenous Family Medicine residency program and a spokesperson for the First Nations and Aboriginal Primary Care Network.

Dr. Tu is a Family Physician, Board Member and Primary Care Co-Lead at the Kilala Lelum Health Center. He is a UBC Clinical Assistant Professor and community-based researcher with a focus on Indigenous Peoples Health, HIV, and Substance Use Disorder.

The Indigenous Health Round is open to healthcare providers, Indigenous Traditional Practitioners, health administrators, health policy makers, healthcare workers, and affiliated faculty, staff, and students.
