The Office of Respectful Environments, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) presents its 2023 symposium, Disrupting the Status Quo: Intersecting Inequities Impacting Women in the Faculty of Medicine and Opportunities for Change.

To commemorate International Women’s Day and as part of REDI’s commitment to amplify women’s voices, this event will feature a diverse group of women as they speak about their perspectives on leadership, opportunities and barriers in the context of health professions practice, education and research.
The symposium will centre intersectionality and the differentiated experiences of women as we critically examine how current academic systems and hierarchies create additional barriers for women and ideas for change.
