Dr. Andrea Jones (Division of Neurology) winner of the 2023 UBC CSCI/CIHR Resident Research Manuscript Prize

The UBC Department of Medicine congratulates Neurology resident Dr. Andrea Jones on winning the 2023 UBC CSCI/CIHR Resident Research Manuscript Prize.

This prize is awarded each year for the best first author published research manuscript conducted during an RCPSC residency training program at each Canadian medical school.

Dr. Jones’ manuscript is entitled “Pain, opioid, depressive systems, and mortality in adults living in precarious housing or homelessness: a longitudinal prospective study”

Andrea is concurrently a Resident Physician in the Division of Neurology and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Clinician Investigator Program at University of British Columbia (Supervisor Dr. Thalia Field). Her research aims to improve brain health among marginalized communities, by applying complex systems perspectives to examine interrelationships between social networks, brain structure, and health outcomes.
